Despite this, most patients return to their everyday activities. Within 48 hours of treatment do avoid direct sunlight from hitting your treated skin and do not use a tanning bed, sun lamp, or any other laser equipment. Within 24 hours of treatment, avoid applying lotions with fragrances or perfumes to the treatment area including deodorant if underarms were treated. Also avoid exfoliating or scrubbing the treated area as it can irritate your skin.
For your safety, we do not perform laser hair removal as there is limited research on the effects of laser hair removal during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The number of sessions required for laser hair removal varies based on individual factors such as hair color, skin type, and the treatment area. Typically, lighter skin types required 6-8 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Darker hair and lighter skin tones tend to respond faster to the treatment. Darker skin types typically require 12-18 sessions.
You will require 6 to 18 sessions to be completely hair free. Once the recommended sessions have been completed, the effects can last for many years, however, so long as we’re alive and healthy some new hairs can grow out. You’ll know they’re new because they tend to be fine in texture. We recommend doing a touch-up treatment once a year.
